The book was built up in the Woman and Home magazine and not being from the UK I would not have had access to the future segments and I would not have been able to find out the details to Kath's story so I bought the book. I wanted to find out more about the secrets kept by their mother. However, the story just felt short and rushed at the end after all of the buildup in the earlier chapters. Another issue that was not fully worked out was why Sheila their eldest sister remained with their father and the other two oldest stayed with their mum Florrie. The earlier chapters just dragged on and on when what was really needed was to fleshed out more completely the "secrets" that was never spoken about in the family.
